What are SANDACH?


SANDACH is an acronym that stands for Animal By-Products, which are not intended for human consumption.

SANDACH waste is waste from the production of foodstuffs of animal origin. This type of waste may include animal carcasses, parts of animals, products of animal origin, or by-products that come from animals not intended for human consumption.

SANDACH REGULATIONS


The applicable legal framework governing animal by-products not intended for human consumption at community level is Regulation (EC) No 1069/2009.

In the case of Spain, Royal-Decree 1528/2012 laid down the conditions governing the implementation of this regulation.
